Tinder Tales was started in November of 2014 by Producer, Adelade LaFontaine, as a comedic storytelling event to give dating app users and online daters the opportunity to share, listen, and laugh about their unfortunate dating experiences. After spending many evenings sitting around with friends, comparing profiles, scrolling through bios and shirtless mirror selfies, sharing the ridiculousness that was the failed attempts at online conversations and sometimes even dates, Adelade realized, she was not the only one doing this. In a city of over 2 million people, there was bound to be an abundance of Tinder and online dates gone wrong, and people willing to share these stories or at the very least, people willing to laugh at these stories. Because as we all know, misery loves company. Tinder Tales is designed to remind us we’re not alone in this often trying, modern world of digital dating.
In 2015 we collaborated with Suzy Rawsome of Rawsome Comedy to bring Tinder Tales to Vancouver, and what a success it has been, consistently selling out shows…and we’re still growing! Stay tuned MTL.
All shows consist of a 7-8 person lineup. The lineup is a mix of storytellers, comedians, bloggers, and people who have never been on stage before.
